“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen” 2 Peter 3:18
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a statement. A few of us are about to make this statement as we prepare for our graduations, confirmations, and internships. Peter urges us to grow in two areas: The Grace of Jesus and their knowledge of Him.
As our three graduates move on, we can only pray that their growth journey to know Jesus matures as they mature in the many adventures they will embark on over the next 4-6 years. Our two confirmands are strong in their knowledge, and I am excited to watch their growth in Grace over the next three years. As I begin my year-long internship, I am excited to deepen my relationship with God through this experience with Zion and Our Redeemer in Pine City.
By definition, grace is unearned and unworked for. Growing in Grace is a concept of Christianity that urges believers to deepen their relationship with God through both understanding and experience, ultimately leading to a more mature and Christ-like life.
Peace, Your Sam Wendy
