“For we are God’s handiwork, created in
Christ Jesus to do good works, which
God prepared in advance for us to do.” –
Ephesians 2:10

As I visited a Church in New Mexico and in my Rural Ministry class, the term "being used as a vessel for God" seemed to be the theme, and I still have the stories and thoughts running through my head. As I told my story to a few people and then to the bible study group, I had to ask myself if many Christians knew what this saying meant. So, I wanted to explain my interpretation of what I got from the message and class anyway. In a spiritual sense, a vessel is a container for God's purpose, love, and grace. It signifies that we are chosen to carry and share God's messages and works daily. Being a vessel means we are responsible for expressing God's love and kindness, serving others, and responding to the Holy Spirit's leading. In our faith journey, we realize we are not just here by chance. God created each of us uniquely with a specific purpose, and we are called to fulfill His plans. Each of us has gifts and talents meant to be shared with the world. Doing this honors God and blesses those around us! Embracing our purpose helps us live life to the fullest, knowing we start as soil, add some rain, and we are formed into mud or clay. This mud or clay is constantly being worked, shaped, and molded into a crafted vessel to pour out God's grace, mercy, love, kindness, and peace. You never
may know who you changed just by being kind, showing grace, and having mercy.
