“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.” – Hebrews 10:24-25

The fall season is in full swing. Gardens are prepped for next year. Clothes in orange and red hang out to gather the fresh scent of the great outdoors. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us that the land we live on, hunt on, walk on, and enjoy is essential to community life. I remember arriving on Friday evening to a room full of relatives and friends whom I may only see once a year, and that was during hunting season, where we would build relationships and discuss our tactics for tomorrow's hunt. Reminisce of those who are no longer with us but passed down their wisdom and knowledge for a successful hunt. This verse also reminds us that God desires His people to come together, interact, and support one another. When one thinks about it, the land is really a symbol of belonging and shared responsibility. Now, let's take a step back to the larger communities, where God invites us to actively engage and contribute to the well-being of those around us. One example was on Nov. 1st, when some of us gathered together to do highway clean-up with others in our community. We laughed, ate, and shared stories, but in the end, we learned from each other and how important connection is through the lens of our shared land.
