“A sower went out to sow his seed….And some
fell into good soil and grew and yielded a
hundredfold.” – Luke 8:5, 8 ESV

Wait For It….
Along the path, on the rock, among the thorns, this was how Jesus described the Word that did not take root in listeners’ hearts. But there was a fourth category which was good soil. He said, “As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.” (Luke 8:15)

When we hear God’s Word and believe, it grows down deep into our hearts and through Him we begin to yield a crop. Yet don’t miss Jesus’ words on how we bear fruit - with patience. But, let’s face it, in a fast-paced, instant- download culture, aren’t we more likely to become impatient waiting for the bounty of fruit? While we do see some fruit immediately, often the working of God in our lives takes time. As we continue to obey, though - as we persevere and stick with it - we will see a harvest.

With Spring in the air and the itch to get digging in the dirt, my prayer for you is to hold fast to God’s Word in your hearts and do not give up before you yield an abundance of good works for Him. PS.. good luck gardening!!

Peace,
